iPhone app

The AI Agent iPhone app is your facility's agent in your pocket. Chat with it from the shop floor, a hotel lobby, a ward corridor or the gym floor, hand it a task, and get a notification when it's done. The agent does the work on its own device, so it keeps going when you lock your phone. The app is listed on the App Store as Performance Hub: AI Agent and appears on your Home Screen as AI Agent.
For what the apps do and who can use them, see AI Agent apps.
System requirements
- An iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
- A Performance Hub account with access to at least one agent.
- An internet connection. The app reaches your agent through Performance Hub, so there's no VPN, tunnel or server address to set up.
Install and sign in
- Install Performance Hub: AI Agent from the App Store, then open AI Agent.
- Three short pages introduce the app, once per install: Performance Hub: AI Agent, Widgets, Siri and more, and Enable notifications, where you can allow notifications. Tap Continue, then Get Started.
- On the sign-in screen ("Your always-on AI Agent, on iPhone."), tap Sign in with Performance Hub. The button shows Signing in… while you sign in.
- Sign in on the Performance Hub page that opens, with any sign-in method you use for Performance Hub, including Google.
The app keeps your sign-in in the iPhone's Keychain, so you stay signed in.
Choose an agent
"Your AI Agents are found automatically — nothing to configure." The app finds the agents your account can use:
- With one agent, the app connects to it straight away.
- With more than one, Choose an AI Agent lists them, grouped by facility. Each shows whether it's Online or Offline, and its location. Tap the one you want.
- Next time you open the app, it reconnects to the agent you used last.
While it looks, the app shows "Finding your AI Agents…". If your account can't use any agents, it shows No AI Agents available. Ask your facility administrator, or the agent's owner, for access (see Access control), then tap Check Again. Sign Out is on this screen too.
To switch agents later, use Manage Devices, or AI Agents in Settings.
Sessions
The sessions list is where the app opens. The header shows "Active AI Agent:" with the agent's name.
- Tap Chat to start a conversation. With none yet, the list says "No sessions yet" and "Tap Chat to start."
- A session's menu has Archive, Delete, Copy Full Title, Rename, Duplicate and Move to Project.
- Archived Sessions holds the sessions you've archived.
The sidebar opens Tasks, Kanban (when your agent supports it), Skills, Memory and Insights, with Active Profile and Projects below them.

Chat
Chat with your agent as you would in Performance Hub. Its reply streams in as it writes, and you can steer it in a new direction or stop it mid-reply.
- Attach photos and files to a message, or dictate it.
- Choose the model and reasoning level for a conversation with Choose Model. See Models.
- Use profiles and projects to keep different kinds of work apart.
- Browse the agent's workspace files. See Workspace, files & wiki.

Tasks, skills, memory and insights
- Tasks lists the agent's scheduled jobs, such as a morning briefing, an evening equipment sweep or a weekly report. See Automations.
- Kanban is the agent's task board, for agents that support it.
- Skills lists what your agent knows how to do. See Skills.
- Memory shows what the agent remembers about your work. See Memory. Insights opens from the same sidebar.

Siri and Shortcuts
Ask Siri, for example "New chat in AI Agent" or "Hey Siri, ask AI Agent". Siri also knows the app as Agent, Performance Hub and My Agent.
These actions are in the Shortcuts app, so you can add them to your own shortcuts:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| New Chat | Starts a new conversation |
| New Chat with Voice | Starts a new conversation by voice |
| New Chat in Profile | Starts a new conversation in a profile you choose |
| Ask Agent | Asks your agent a question |
| Reply to Agent | Replies to your agent |
| Open Agent Session | Opens a session |
Open Siri Settings, in the app's Settings, takes you to the iPhone's Siri settings.
Widgets and Live Activities
| Widget | What it shows | Sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Quick Actions | "Start a new chat or jump back into your AI Agent." | Small and medium on the Home Screen, and a round Lock Screen widget |
| Recent Sessions | "Jump back into your latest AI Agent conversations." | Medium and large |
When the agent is working on a long reply, a Live Activity follows its progress on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
Share to your agent
From another app, tap the Share button and choose the AI Agent app to send text, files, images or web links into a chat. For example, share a supplier's PDF and ask for a summary, or a web page and ask the agent to compare it with your own.
Notifications
When the agent finishes a response, the app can notify you, and you can reply from the notification without opening the app. Allow notifications on the last introduction page, or later in the iPhone's Settings. Response Complete Alerts and Completion Sound are in the app's Interaction settings. See Notifications.
Settings
Open Settings in the app. The cards are, in order:
| Card | Settings |
|---|---|
| Archived Sessions | Your archived sessions |
| Appearance | Theme, Header Logo Color and Tint New Chat & Send |
| Interaction | Haptic Feedback, Response Complete Alerts, Completion Sound and Send While Responding |
| Chat | Thinking and Tool Cards, Streamed Text Animation, Response Timestamps, Wrap Code Block Lines, Right-to-Left Chat Layout, Hide Attachment Paths and Live Activity Excerpts |
| Sessions | Message Count, Workspace, Cron Sessions, CLI Sessions and Subagent Sessions |
| Siri & Shortcuts | Open Siri Settings |
| AI Agents | The agents your account can use, and Refresh Devices |
| Active AI Agent | Default Model, Default Profile, and the agent's status and software version |
| App | The app's version and build, Privacy Policy and Support |
| Offline Data | Clear Offline Cache, which asks "Clear this server's cache?" first |
| Account | Signed in as, and Sign Out, which asks "Sign out of Performance Hub?" first |
The app's settings change how the app works. Your agent's own settings, such as its name, models and behaviour, are in Performance Hub: "To configure an AI Agent — its name, models, and behavior — open the device's settings in Performance Hub." See Device management.
Active AI Agent also shows whether the agent's software is Up to date or has an Update available. For how agent updates work, see Software updates.
Offline
Without a connection, the app shows what it has saved, with the banner "Offline - viewing cached version", and reconnects by itself when it can. To delete what it has saved for the current agent, use Clear Offline Cache in Settings.
Permissions and privacy
The app can ask for these permissions:
| Permission | Why the app asks |
|---|---|
| Microphone | "Performance Hub: AI Agent needs microphone access to dictate text into the message composer." |
| Speech recognition | To turn dictated audio into editable draft text |
| Photos | To attach images to chat messages |
| Add to Photos | To save exported workspace images to Photos |
| Notifications | To tell you when a response is ready (asked on the last introduction page) |
The app doesn't ask for your camera, location or contacts. Its App Store privacy label lists your name and email address as data linked to you, used for app functionality.
Updates
The app updates through the App Store, like your other apps.
Languages
The app follows your iPhone's language. It's available in English, Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Turkish and Urdu. For Arabic, Hebrew and Urdu, Right-to-Left Chat Layout in Settings lays chats out from right to left.
Uninstall
Touch and hold AI Agent on the Home Screen, tap Remove App, then Delete App. Your chats and files stay on the agent. Signing out first is optional.
